Waiting for the basting

....für einen Minipost habe ich gerade Zeit, da ich in der Examensvorbereitung stecke, welches im Juni startet.Man soll ja beim Lernen regelmäßige Pausen einlegen ;0)

Das Ergebnis gefällt mir sehr! Interessanterweise beeindruckt es jung und alt in meinem Umfeld.

Da ich ohne Acrylschablone zugeschnitten habe und jedes Kurventeil gesteckt habe, wird es nur ein Lapsize- Quilt werden. 

Only a very short posting, because I'm in the preparation for my exam (speech therapy), that'll start in June. We were teached to take short breaks, to keep the studys more efficient ;o)

I love my blanket so far. Interestingly, I get positive reactions from young and old people. It's only lapsized, because I worked without acrylic templates and pinned every curvy piece before sewing......

Die nächste Variante ist schon in meinem Kopf!

Nachdem ich mir eine Designwall zusammengebastelt habe
- aus ein paar Styroporplatten, Klebeband, Vlies und vielen Stecknadeln-,
macht das Arrangieren der Stoffschnipsel viel mehr Spaß......

With my new designwall ( some styroform  boards, duct tape, batting and
tons of pins) it is so much fun to arrange all those fabric snippets!

Glücklicherweise gibt es auch ein paar schnöde Quadrate ;0)

Ich bin überrascht, wie gut die beerigen Töne dazu harmonieren.....

Biscornu

Das Biscornu entdeckte ich letztens in einer Zeitung. Ein bißchen gegoogel und
schon hatte ich die Anleitung für dieses zauberhafte Nadelkisssen, welches ganz simpel aus zwei Stoffquadraten genäht wird. Üblicherweise besteht es aus zwei bestickten Quadraten, aber auch mit PW- Stoffen macht es eine gute Figur, oder?
Dieses hier wird bestimmt nicht lange allein bleiben ;0)

I discoverd the Biscornu- pattern after googeling arround. It's  simply
made out of two quaters of fabric. Traditionaly it's manufactured  of embroidered pieces, but I love the result made of patchwork fabrics. This one will not stay alone for a long time.....

In den Ferien soll mein Stoffvorrat mal ein wenig schrumpfen.
Dazu dienen u. a. diese beiden Wärmekissen, gefüllt mit Rapssamen. Diese
sollen das Nonplusultra der Füllungen sein; sie sollen die Wärme länger speichern
und man kann sie mit dem Kissen zusammen waschen. Mal sehen......

To reduce my stash during the holidays, I made two rhy sacs filled with rape seeds.
I was told, they are keeping the heat longer than other seeds and they tolerate machine washing. I will keep an eye on that ;0)

Um einmal zu probieren, das Binding mit der Maschine anzunähen, habe ich diesen Mugrug genäht. Das Ergebnis war so unbefriedigend, dass ich sofort wieder die Nähnadel gezückt habe. Jetzt wird das Binding für den Konfiquilt abends beim Fernsehen per Hand angenäht.
 
For practicing the machine attached binding, I created this small mug rug.
The experiment failed and I returned to hand stitching.
